Imagine a dreamy island wedding held in a lush, tropical setting surrounded by the Florida Keys’ blue-green water, a white sandy beach and swaying palm trees. Then picture Sunset Key Cottages, and that fantasy becomes reality.
This spectacular resort occupies seven acres of the island. Beyond the resort, guests may explore the white sand beaches or take a short ferry ride to Key West. Sunset Key is renowned for its exclusivity and privacy. Couples enjoy their dream beach ceremony followed by a glorious unobstructed sunset view reception at one of our many venues.
The Private Beach Ceremony is held on the white sandy beach at the point with endless water views. A quaint poolside reception with luscious greenery, blooming flowers, and built-in bar with illuminated pool serve as the perfect backdrop; and elegant music for dinner and dancing is one option. Another is to host a pool garden ceremony that features a lovely red brick path serving as the aisle for the bride and her wedding party with swaying palm trees overhead. Both these options can accommodate 15 to 32 guests.
The Paradise Cottage reception, featuring a private oceanfront cottage, cocktail hour on the patio, plus dinner and dancing under a beautiful flowing white illuminated tent, is another perfect way to follow the beach ceremony. The option of a plated dinner requires a minimum of 15 guests, while the buffet requires a minimum of 25 guests, and the individual station set up requires a minimum of 40 guests. All three options can accommodate up to 80 guests.
The most intimate reception setting following the beach ceremony is the Latitudes Dinner option, an indoor semi-private seating at the resort’s award-winning Latitudes restaurant for 50 to 175 guests. This is recommended as the best option for vow renewal and commitment ceremonies, although all the options listed are available.
For those seeking variety, there’s the Sunset Key ceremony followed by a cocktail hour on a chartered catamaran with limited open bar and choice of three butler-passed hors d’oeuvres, culminating in a reception at the Westin Pier with choice of a plated, buffet, stations, family-style dinner or heavy hors d’oeuvres reception style. This option can accommodate up to 127 guests.
Sunset Key’s unique island setting is also the perfect opportunity to reserve the entire resort, which features 40 luxurious two-, three- and four-bedroom cottages, for up to 150 wedding guests, making it the ultimate all-inclusive getaway.
